Borussia Dortmund are now pushing to sign Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, according to Sky Germany.
Dortmund have had internal discussions and have now made the decision to continue with the England international on loan.
The Bundesliga side distanced themselves from a potential deal earlier this week, with Rashford saying he had not been head coach Nuri Sahin’s top target.
The expected cost – even if subsidized – for the striker has reportedly been reported to be more than Dortmund can afford.
This position now seems to have changed, but AC Milan are also very concrete in their interest and are actively trying to make a deal to sign Rashford themselves.
Rashford’s camp has held talks with a number of European clubs this month to explore terms of a deal.
Manchester United’s preference is believed to have been a straight loan move for Rashford, if they want to allow him to leave Old Trafford.
Rashford has once again been left out of the matchday squad for the visit of Southampton in the Premier League on Thursday evening.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim was asked after the FA Cup third round victory over Arsenal last weekend if Rashford had played his last match for the club.
Amorim said: “I don’t know. We’ll see.”
