Tim Allen revealed if there were any plans for the former Home Improvement costar Jonathan Taylor Thomas appear in his new sitcom Change gear.

Before leading the cast of ABC Change gearAllen starred in Home Improvement from 1991 to 1999 alongside Thomas, Patricia Richardson, Taran Noah Smith, Zachery Ty Bryan, Richard Karn And Debbie Dunning. Thomas left the show early to focus on school and eventually made the decision to retire from acting altogether.
Allen and Thomas ended up reuniting on screen for four episodes of Last man standing. Thomas also directed three episodes of the sitcom. While Thomas remained out of the public eye, Allen continued to enjoy success as America’s favorite sitcom dad with his roles as Mike Baxter in Last man standingwhich ran from 2011 to 2021, and now Matt Parker in Change gear.
“[My former onscreen wife] Nancy Travis told me once [something] after I called her for Last man standing. I said, ‘Have you talked to the girls [who play our daughters] during the summer? Then there’s this long pause and she says, ‘Tim, they’re not our daughters and I’m not really your wife,'” he joked. “She was so wonderful about it because sometimes , when they had problems on the show, I would say to them, “How do you think they feel?” And she would say, “Tim, they’re actors We just read.” [what is on the page but] she’s not really that sad.’
On Change gearAllen plays a widowed father opposite an ex-daughter played by Kat Dennings. The duo explained how they “immediately” made a connection once they were cast on the show.
“The director wanted to see how we got along. It never stopped. The kismet was crazy. We were both born on the same day, several years apart,” he said. We. “We are different in many ways.
