RECAP: ‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Exposes Kody’s Hidden Financial Fraud!
On the January 19 episode of Sister Wives, Meri Brun reveals inequalities in the way her family’s finances were managed and distributed – calling out the process was not fair.
Meri on Coyote Pass disputes
“His main goal at the time was for me to get two acres. Two acres,” Meriexplains to her friend Jennifer Sullivan during the episode. She accuses her ex-husband, Kody Brownof not intending to give him an equal share of the Coyote Pass homestead. “He said to me, ‘Well, you don’t need that much because you don’t have that many kids.'”
Jennifer reminds Meri that she contributed equally to the property, located in Flagstaff, Arizona, despite having only one child, Leon, with Kody.
“I don’t know if they don’t remember the days when our funds were all together and the family funds that I helped with went to the kids’ college, to the property,” Meri said. “It went to everything. We had a family fund.
Jennifer adds that at Méri’s the money paid for many of the children’s expenses, but Leon’s needs were left behind. “This money was used to finance the majority of the children’s university studies, but not Léon’s,” explains Jen. Meri confirms: “I paid for Léon’s studies,” noting that she also covered at Leon’s car payments independently without using the family fund.
“I really don’t know how much of the family fund actually went to paying for school or cars for the other kids.” Meri admits, “but I know my child’s school was not financed from the family fund.”
Unequal financial treatment
Although Meri East Kody’s The longest-serving spouse, she shares that she never received a fair share of the collective finances. “Kody actually said this: “Because I only have one child, I am not entitled to an equal share of the property” Meri claims, again referring to Coyote Pass communal lands.
Despite Kody dismissing his worries, Meri remains firm in her belief that she deserves compensation for her contributions. Christine Brunwho left Kody in 2021, ceded its share of land to Kody And Robyn Brown in exchange for the proceeds from the sale of his Arizona home.
“I have invested a lot in this marriage, emotionally, financially, [and] personally,” Meri concludes. “I didn’t get anything out of it, like child support or anything. And I’m not looking for that. So I think it’s fair [that I get] real estate investment. I think it’s only fair that I walk away with at least that.
Legal procedures and land tensions
Elsewhere in the episode, Kody meet with a real estate agent to possibly register Coyote Pass without consulting Meri Or Janelle Brown. The two women, determined to protect their rights, called on lawyers to ensure a fair division of property.
Janelle explains the complexity of land ownership:
“Given the title, if we were to sell it now, Meri would be compensated for about an acre and a half out of the entire 14. This whole conversation really depends on Kody. He is the one who appears on all the titles.
She also expresses doubts about Kody’s intentions:
“Are you going to show up and divide them up fairly?” What do we do? Because he is very foolish. If he says something, you won’t hear from him forever. Like, I don’t know. There’s no guarantee he’ll be nice.
Kodyin his confessional, dismisses their concerns by saying, “I just had two ex-wives who were real tormentors and are still harassing me. »
Kody reacts to Christine’s wedding
Later in the episode, Kody shares his feelings about not being invited to that of Christine marriage to David Woolley. “Really, where I am is that of Christine happy, and it’s great,” he says but admits to experiencing FOMO.
“Everyone is going to have a fun time.” I’m going to be kicked out of the party and I have FOMO,” he told the cameras.
Robynpretending to support that of Christine new chapter – she adds sarcastically: “We are so happy for them… We just want Christina be happy. This is what we want.
