President Donald Trump says he “is not satisfied” by Boeing after the delay in the new Force Air Force.
Boeing CEO, Kelly Ortberg, said Thursday that Elon Musk “helps us a lot” to solve the problems that have delayed the delivery of the new Air Force One plane from Boeing.
Ortberg told analysts and investors of the Barclays Industrial Select Conference that the company progressed with the help of Musk, CEO of Rival Aerospace Company Spacex. The work has focused on improving the delivery time for the end of the Air Force One, as well as the elimination of the risk of continuous cost excess.
“Elon Musk helps us work a lot thanks to the requirements … so that we can move faster and have the president delivered these planes,” said Ortberg.

The Boeing defense unit, which makes the Air Force One, has taken several costs due to cost exceeding on fixed prices.

The contract for the new Air Force One was initially awarded to Boeing in 2018, when it received a contract of $ 3.9 billion to build two new aircraft 747-8 for use like Air Force One. The plane was originally delivered by December 2024, but subsequent delays led to it pushed back in 2027 or 2028, the new delay posting this further.

The Boeing 747-8 which will possibly serve Air Force One are designed to be an airborne white house which can fly in security scenarios the worst cases, such as nuclear war, and are modified with military aircraft, communications advanced and system self -defense.
Earlier this week, a Trump administration official told Edward Lawrence of Fox Business that the new Air Force One planes had been delayed until 2029 or later due to problems that Boeing attributed to channels of global supply and changing the requirements of the project.

“It is ridiculous that the delivery of a new Air Force One plane has been delayed for so long,” said Steven Cheung, director of communications for the White House, in Fox Business. “President Trump is working to identify ways to accelerate the delivery of a new plane, which has been necessary for some time.”
