The Lego group continues to build its empire, investing $ 366 million to build a new warehouse of 2 million square feet in Prince George, in Virginia.

The new warehouse will operate in the state alongside the LEGO factory under construction in the county of Chesterfield.
Announced in 2022, the factory of 1.7 million square feet is in the process of opening in 2027 and will employ more than 1,700 once fully operational.
“Our regional distribution center is a strategic supplement to the factory that we are currently building in Virginia,” said the COO of the Lego Carsten Rasmussen group. “The two installations will ensure that we have the manufacturing and distribution capacity to continue to respect long -term growth in the Americas for the coming years, while helping to reduce deadlines and our environmental impact thanks to a shortened supply chain.”

The Lego group, founded in Denmark in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen, remains a family business whose headquarters are in Billud, Denmark.
Its products are now sold in more than 120 countries around the world.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) worked with the Gateway region of the County Prince George and Virginia to secure the project.

Youngkin has approved a $ 2.53 million subsidy from the Commonwealth Opportunity Fund to help Prince George County.
LEGO Group is also eligible for receiving the advantages of the subsidy program on economic development areas and infrastructure of the port of Virginia, which is designed to encourage companies to locate new job centers related to the sea or to extend existing centers to encourage the growth of the port of Virginia.
