Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have revealed Rajat Patidar as their new captain for the 2025 edition of the Premier Indian League (IPL). The 31 -year -old striker, known for his compound but aggressive style, was presented as the leader during an event at the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Thursday, February 13.
A new era of leadership begins
With the old skipper FAF DU PLESSIS Not kept by the franchise, RCB found himself looking for a new leader before the next season. Patidar, who previously directed Madhya Pradesh At the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, now becomes the eighth cricket player for Captain, the Bengaluru -based team.

Patidar’s leadership marks a new phase for RCB, which saw Kohli and Plessis guide the team in the past. Kohli assumed the functions of captain for the first Daniel Vettori. He officially took charge of the full -time role in 2012, leading the team until his descendants in 2021.
During Kohli’s mandate, the RCB reached the playoffs in 2015 and finished second in 2016, the prolific striker breaking a record of 973 points this season. The team also obtained places in playoffs in 2020 and 2021. By virtue of Du Plessis, RCB maintained its competition sequence, heading for the playoffs during the period 2022-24.
With Patidar at the helm now, RCB will look forward to a new era, aimed at guaranteeing its title IPL Maiden IPL under its direction.
