This article contains spoilers For the first of season 2 of season 2.
We are only an episode in, but season 2 of “1923” has already set up an intriguing drama for its next episodes. The duties are low in number while Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) and Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) took the bet in order to claim their land, aggravated by the facts and the Lions invade the family sought by the family. Elsewhere, the newlyweds Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alexandra Dutton (Julia Schlaepfer) have been separated in Europe and must find a way to go to Montana by themselves, which will not be an easy task. Again, when is life easy for Dated?
Despite this season with convincing scenarios, however, that’s not all good. Like season 1, this second episode already includes unnecessary coarse moments – namely Whitfield and its habit of making sex Lindy (Madison Elise Rogers) and Christy (Coilyn Rice) punish each other suddenly for her own amusement. These scenes polarized the first time, and at this stage, they did not improve history. This raises the question: is the show free for good?
Lindy and Christy’s scenes stand out for bad reasons in 1923
“1923” is often brutal. For example, the mischief of Native American internships are extremely difficult to look at, but they play a key role in the history of Teonna Rainwater (Aminah Nieves), while simultaneously highlighting a brutal period in history. However, the scenes involving the ill -treatment and humiliation of Lindy and Christy have received many criticisms, but it seems that they continue in the predictable future, because women are always locked up with Donald Whitfield at the end of the first of season 2.
That said, the shabby exploits of Whitfield served their objective the first time we saw them in season 1. The first scene probably gave an overview of the sadistic nature of the rich capitalist, but the others are nothing more that unnecessary torture sequences that would have been more suitable for the forgotten horror film by Taylor Sheridan, “Vile”. Like a Redditor Put it, “[They’re] completely useless. Lazy writing. We have seen the same exact scene in [‘Game of Thrones’]Unless much better written and part of a development of progressive character with a huge gain at the end. “”
While “Yellowstone” finally lost its way, at least the show was not short on ideas and surprises. “1923” is strong, for the most part, but the series would be more interesting if it does not double and does not triple on its worst elements, like this one, and rather found other ways to show the wickedness of Whitfield during his personal time. Perhaps these scenes will lead to an interesting script gain, but for the moment, they seem to leave a bad taste in the mouths of people.
