Liverpool missed the opportunity to bring a potentially fatal blow to Arsenal during the race for the title of the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
The Reds’ victory in the rearranged Merseyside derby would have sent them to nine points of the artillerymen struck by injuries with 14 games to lose, but the Thunderbolt of James Tarkowski in the 98th minute gave Liverpool to a destroyed draw to Goodison Park.
It was a week of tumult for Arsenal in the middle of a growing injury crisis, but the equalizer of the last blow of Everton means that they always have an outdoor USURPING LIVERPOOL in the table of the Premier League. Seven points behind their rivals with a trip to Anfield to arrive in May, Mikel Arteta’s men must be more or less perfect by the conclusion of the campaign.
Arsenal has the capacity to apply pressure to Liverpool during Gameweek 25. They compete against Leicester City in difficulty on Saturday noon, more than 24 hours before table toppers are in home against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But how does the form of arsenal compare to Liverpool in a crucial weekend?
Liverpool has been far from impeccable since the start of the year. They were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur, PSV Eindhoven and Plymouth Argyle in the Cup competitions, when they only won three victories of their six first League matches.
January started with an unconvincing draw which somewhat embodied the calendar year of Liverpool. There were a lot of positive points of their confrontation with bitter Manchester United rivals, but their lack of killer instinct was expensive in Anfield.
The Nottingham Forest surprise package held Liverpool in the Premier League Nine days later, when they lacked the opportunity to move even more clearly at the top, but a trio of victories against Brentford, Ipswich Town and Bournemouth saw the Reds Return to the right track.
They left late to beat Brentford – Darwin Nunez by released a double in time – but things were much more comfortable against the tractor boys and cherries.
Three consecutive triumphs had Liverpool supporters who felt confident through Stanley Park on Wednesday evening, even if Everton was impressive since the return of David Moyes. But for the tenth time during their last 13 visits to Goodison, the Reds were forced to settle for a lonely point while the dark Carmelites struck late to guarantee a hard draw.

Arsenal participated in the first meeting of the Premier League in 2025, traveling through London to face Brentford on New Year’s Day. Despite the first doors, the Gunners showed impressive resilience to beat the bees 3-1 thanks to Gabriel’s goals Jesus, Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli.
Traveling to Brentford is never easy and the same can be said to visit Brighton & Hove Albion. For the second time this quarter, Arsenal could not manage a 1-1 draw with the Seagulls after a controversial penalty which left Arteta exasperated after the full-time whistle.
Fortune did not favor Arsenal on the southern coast and it has generally escaped them this calendar year. Injuries have stacked – especially in the front line – but the Gunners have managed to deal with the key staff. A 2-1 victory, much necessary on the enemies of northern London, Tottenham, allowed them to follow the pace of Liverpool in mid-January.
Things were less pink when they made an advance of two goals at Aston Villa three days later, but they once again showed their character while they were fighting with ten men to sneak in Wolves.
The men of Arteta won a declaration victory the following weekend against the title champions of the Premier League Manchester City. The Cityzens are the shadow of their old self, but the Gunners still bent their attacker muscles with a 5-1 distribution victory which served as a warning panel in Liverpool.

Liverpool may have been the Premier League form team this season, but Arsenal actually has a higher record since the start of the year. The Gunners won four and pulled two of their six championship games, while the Reds won three and pulled as much.
Arsenal also marked more than their title competitors, while the two teams conceded six in as many games. Despite the perception of the public and the problems of launched fitness, the Arteta team managed to go through a difficult period, its head highly.
However, things should become much more difficult in the coming weeks. With Kai Havertz for the rest of the season and Bukayo Saka undergoing an injury backdrop on his road to recovery, the Gunners are incredibly short of attack options with Jesus and Martinelli also on the sidelines. They will be hard to keep the pace of Liverpool in the next six games.
Reds may not be in their pace earlier, but there is an acceptance that they will settle as soon as possible. A difficult series of lighting on the horizon offers arsenal Hope, but Mohamed Salah and Co. should take up the challenge.
