The NBC Digital Union has concluded a provisional contract agreement with leadership after years of negotiation with the company.
The unionized editorial staff represented by the NewGuild from NY to NBC News, NBC News Now and today concluded a provisional contract agreement with the network on Friday. The agreement protects members during the future restructuring of companies and delays in the dismissal announced last month, who were strongly sentenced by union staff who declared that the action was illegal because they were in the midst of negotiations for a first contract.
The contract also provides targeted workers with additional salary, health care and renovation rights. NBC Digital Newsguild, which represents around 300 workers, will vote to ratify the agreement in the coming days and, if it is approved, it will be the first contract for the negotiation unit since its certification in 2019.

Fox News Digital contacted NBC News to comment.
The NBC Digital Newsguild represents nearly 300 journalists, publishers, designers, video journalists, animators, social media strategists and editor, who have been negotiating its first contract since 2019. Any modification of the working conditions of members during negotiations, including layoffs, must be negotiated under the federal labor law, said the union.
The contract is the culmination of a fight of almost 5 years, during which employees are engaged in many public actions, including a one -day strike in 2023.

During the negotiations underway in November 2024, the NBC digital employee union projected scathing messages out of 30 rocks, revitalizing the company’s management for dragging their feet on a contract. The projections called on the leaders for an alleged “illegal behavior” by lit “Breaking News” messages on the flagship building of the company in Midtown Manhattan.
In addition, in 2021, the National Council for Labor Relations noted that NBC had illegally refused more than $ 350,000 in raises from union journalists, according to a press release previously shared with Fox News Digital.
The agreement also includes a single cause and increased transparency, in particular by eliminating forced arbitration in cases of discrimination and harassment, immediate salary increases up to 17% with at least 9% during the duration of the 3 -year agreement, minimum wage with a floor of $ 65,000 by the last year of the agreement and the extension of the remuneration policies and Weekend that provide compensation for additional work.

“Nyguild members contribute NBC News to the range and value,” said Susan Decarava, New York Newsguild, said. “I am happy that NBC finally recognizes their essential work by accepting a contract which devotes the wages and the work protections they deserve.”
