Niantic, the company behind the popular Pokémon Go augmented reality game, seeks to sell its game development activity, Bloomberg reported, citing anonymous sources.
The company would have explored an agreement with the developer of mobile games Scopely, which belongs to the Savvy Games group in Savvy Games, based in Saudi Arabia, to sell the unit for around 3.5 million dollars.
Niantic and Scopely immediately responded to requests for comments.
Niantic was among the few companies that have managed to use its augmented reality chops to build games. Its first title, Ingress, was largely congratulated for its unique point of view based on geography on the control of the territory, but the company has really skyrocketed with Pokémon Go, which took off in 2016 and quickly became a global phenomenon .
