ProtoArc XKM01 CaseUp Combo Review: A Reliable Portable Workstation

The mouse is also perfectly adequate. It is thin but provides enough palm support so that my hand does not feel like you are cracking. The scrolling wheel and the pimples are smooth and reactive. After a short period of time, I noticed a strange and creaky noise from the left side each time I click. It is not always there, but it is slightly boring each time it comes back. Like the keyboard, it loads via USB-C but has a slightly longer battery life of up to 200 days (emergency time).

The stand is super adjustable, an important characteristic and a way in which the Xkm01 protoarc prevails over the Casa de Logitech, which is not at all adjustable. It is not only ideal for your posture, but it is also pleasant to be able to change the height depending on where you work. You can adjust it to six different levels (between an angle of 10 and 40 degrees) and it is compatible with a laptop as small as 13 inches and as large as 17.3 inches. I used it with my 14 -inch MacBook Pro, and I often make adjustments when I write when I take a zoom call. It is also robust.

The support is not as bewitched as the Casa stand, which is attached to the rest of the case and has more surface, but I prefer the logitech system. The whole configuration seems much clearer against the protoarc devices, which are larger and more spaced. For example, the keyboard of the CASUP XKM01 combo is of the same length as the Casa keyboard and the trackpad combined. Naturally, this comes down to the way you type – you may prefer the more spacious approach than protoarc offers.

I mainly used the XKM01 at the coffee near my apartment. As a rule, I regret my decision to work outside because I instantly miss my very organized workstation (which includes my favorite mechanical keyboard,, Apple Studio displayAnd Logitech mouse). But I was quite well at the coffee for several hours with the protoarc solution, working on a story and responding to the emails before realizing that I had not thought of any of these accessories once. (This is a good thing.) I appreciate it enough for me to remove it to be used on my kitchen island when I want a change of landscape outside my home office.

But I am also a suction cup for the adorable aesthetic. The box has a strictly commercial look which will not seem in its place at the head office, but it is quite dull, especially alongside the Logitech Casa. The Casa is available in pink (my favorite color) with accessories to match, and the transport case looks like a nice notebook. The interior even reminds me of a Bento box, and the keyboard also has an emoji button. It makes me excited to sit on my laptop and do work (even on the darkest days), so much so that I don’t mind the additional $ 80 on the protoarc box.

This can easily be corrected if protoarc decides to offer the XKM01 in different colors. But if the colors do not matter for you, it is an excellent portable workstation. The peripherals are well built and connect reliably, and the keyboard is quite pleasant to type for hours a day. The stand is decently adjustable and, above all, it is affordable. Everything is displayed carefully and safely, which makes it easy to travel. And you don’t have to worry about the battery life. Do it just in pink!
