James Ward -Prowse does not waste time returning to the mixture at West Ham United after his loan to Nottingham Forest – and there is a feeling that he received a new breath at the club.
Now back with the Hammers and working under a new coach, the Englishman was pushed directly into the plans of the first team of Graham Potter – despite the neglected by Julen Lopetegui, who left the club earlier this season.
The 30 -year -old had struggled for the forest match despite their impressive season, but he has already made a strong impression in training since his return to eastern London. According to The Sun, Potter wants to reintegrate it quickly, with a potential start against Brentford on the cards.
Despite 50 appearances in his first season after joining Southampton, Ward-Prowse found himself away from Lopetegui. Instead, West Ham relied on Edson Alvarez, Guido Rodríguez and Carlos Soler – all these midfielder options that have had a mixed success this season.
Potter, however, sees things differently. With 14 games to play and little to play in the League, he has the freedom to reshape his team – and the former man of Southampton Ward -Prowse could be a key figure in this process.
An attacker gifted with the ball, the veteran has 17 direct goals in his name – while his durability makes him a reliable option in the midfield in several positions.

James Ward-Prowse wants to prove that people are wrong

On his return, he said via the club website: “It’s good to be back. Obviously, it was a strange feeling and situation to leave the club in the first place, but it is football.
“Even if the last months for me personally have not been the most productive as I would have liked in the field, I have the impression that all the experience and the kind of different tests that I had to endure sorted to have enjoyed me now. And I think I will come back to the experience and I will be grateful.
“It’s really lit a fire in me to go out and prove that people are wrong.”
