For many Indian students, the dream of studying in the United States is increasingly colliding with a reality that gives thought. Narious tuition fees and visa uncertainties to the instability of the labor market and mental health problems, their aspirations abroad are tested like never before. A recent post Reddit has aroused fierce debate – echoing growing concerns as to whether the American education bet is worth it.
A user of Reddit, claiming to have a master of science, sounded the alarm frankly: “The coaching mafia directs the scam talking about us as a country of milk and honey. Do not come to us for the next 3-4 years. Students find it difficult to get jobs, I know many Indian students.
The position quickly gained ground, with other scenaries to share their dark assessments. A user has contrasting the situation in the United Kingdom, saying: “The British economy for jobs has been difficult since 2021 … An Indian sponsor is only worth it if they are frankly exceptional (Cambridge / Oxford level) … I really see 0 point in the study abroad in England now unless you just want the diploma.”
Another described the net slowdown in employment prospects: “People had three job offers before graduation until 2022. Now they don’t even have more than a year of graduation. Come only if you are rich and want to take a huge risk where you can afford to lose all the money you pay at university. ”
Offering a more measured socket, a material engineer in the United States noted: “I think that the labor market in the United States is bad, but you can attenuate your risks with: a work experience before MS (3-4 years minimum to be sure) … MS from a good UNI (must be in the top 10-15 for your program).
Some stories have addressed deeply personal experiences. “A person related to work in the financial industry has returned from us, despite the green card because his child was too traumatized by the school shooting who left his dead classmate … This is an extreme example, but in the administration of Trump, even the green card …”
Others simply advised patience. “Honestly, don’t risk it. I have not received an offer since 2023 on F1 Visa. Continue to work until you are at least 5/6 years of work experience in India. ”
And for those who hunt large yields, the advice was in scabies: “Unless you reach roles or finances of elite level (anyway, etc.) … The days of reducing easy money in the United States. The standards for even a new one is crazy … Even in India if you join companies like Shaw, Rubrik, you will earn a lot of money. ”
