Former American representative Mia Love, Rutah, died Sunday at the age of 49, according to his family.
LOVE, who was the daughter of Haitian immigrants and the first black republican elected to the congress, “died peacefully” surrounded by family.
“With grateful hearts filled with overflow for the deep influence of MIA on our lives, we want you to know that she died peacefully today,” said Love’s family in a press release published in X. “She was with her home surrounded by family.”

“In the midst of a celebration of her life and an avalanche of happy memories, Mia has quietly slipped the mortality groups and, as her words and her vision have always done, climbed to the sky,” continued the family. “We are grateful for the many good wishes, prayers and condolences. We take time with family and provide information on funeral services and a public celebration of his life in the days to come.”
