In The Power, the premium video series based on the novel by Naomi Alderman in 2016 of the same name, adolescent girls around the world suddenly develop the ability to draw electricity from their hands. How does this superpower change female experience in America and beyond? Toni Collette and Jon Leguizamo are a star alongside a cast of talented young women in a series that aims to return gender tropes and dynamics on their heads.
It is easy to compare girls with paper to Stranger Things. Certain parts of the story take place in the 80s and follow a group of children who are fighting to give meaning to a supernatural event in town as they roll on their bikes. The similarities stop however. Based on the comics of Brian K. Vaughn of the same name, the program for a season starts when our 12 -year -old paper delivery daughters face their future and fight for survival in the middle of a time travel war that takes place around them.
Prime Video made a big swing with dead ringers. This update turn on the classic of David Cronenberg’s cult horror finds Rachel Weisz in the double stage role as doctors Elliott and Beverly Mantle. Their desire to push the envelope of health care throws medical ethics into the wind. The result is a program that never moves to explore subjects such as Big Pharma’s control over women’s health, obsolete reproductive practices, bodily autonomy and much more.
The rotoscopic animation used in Undone provides a dreamlike tapestry so that the public can take. One could easily consider the spectacle as a work of ethereal art, but there is also a deep substance here. The show follows Alma (Rosa Salaza), around twenty people in difficulty whose life is lit their heads after having undergone an accident. While her reality breaks in something else, she must fight to give meaning to her trauma. Mystery game, partially thriller and part of a family drama – it is sure to say that Unnoine is different from any television show that you have seen before.
In order not to be confused with short-term sitcom with Patrick Warburton, this live intake on the blue superhero with Wiggly antennas is more extensive, more action and takes the kind of comic strip, it is a little more seriously.
