Katy Perry responded to an Internet conspiracy theory saying that pop star is actually Jonbénet Ramsey.
Perry, 40, responded to a video generated by the AI-AI shared via Instagram who showed the 6-year-old beauty queen turning into the “fireworks” singer. Perry commented on the post on March 1, writing: “Wait, I’m i.”
Video is an apparent reference to a conspiracy theory that has circulated since 2014, which alleged that the murder of Jonbennét in 1996 was a hoax and that Perry is the young beauty queen in adulthood.
The YouTube video now deleted, by entertainment tonight, suggested that the real parents of Perry were in fact Patsy and John, who had simulated the death of their daughter so that she could become famous. The video also underlined the appearance of Perry as evidence proving that the conspiracy is true, analyzing the shape of its eyebrows, the jaw and the bridge of its nose which, to the theorists of the conspiracy, undoubtedly prove the same person.
In 1996, Jonbennét was found beaten and strangled in his parents’ basement Pigeon And John Ramsey‘S boulder, Colorado Home, a few hours after being missing. His cause of death was asphyxiation by strangulation associated with craniocerebral trauma, and his death was tried homicide. The murder of Jonbéné, which has not been resolved for decades, has been the subject of countless documentaries and conspiracy theories.

However, the 2014 theory has obvious holes, including age differences between Perry and Jonbénet. While Perry celebrated his 40th birthday in October 2024, Jonbenét would have been 35 years this year if she had lived.
Jonbennét murder surveys are still in progress. His father John, 81, spoke to NBC News Earlier this year to share his hope that the police are getting closer to the resolution of the murder of his daughter after meeting the new police chief in Boulder. (Patsy died of cancer in 2006 at the age of 49.)
“They were just open to sincerely discuss the case,” he said at the point of sale. “I am very impressed by the caliber of management now and it gave me a lot of hope.”
Boulder police examined several suspects and theories surrounding the deaths of 6 years, including their parents. In 1999, a large jury voted to charm the couple, but the indictment was never signed by the district prosecutor of Boulder due to a lack of evidence. Patsy and John were exempt in 2008.
There was a renewed interest in the case after the publication of the documents in three parts of Netflix Cold Case: Who killed Jonbené Ramsey In 2024. Before the release of The Special, a spokesperson for the Boulder PD said US Weekly In a declaration of November 2024 according to which they “investigated the case aggressively and continued all the ways”.
A source linked to the authorities, on the other hand, said We That there have been “new eyes” on the case to try to find “everything that could have been neglected”.
“No one is out of the table. This case is still open,” said the initiate. “We are looking for the truth, anything. We are going to leave no stone not returned. The nicest thing we can do for the Ramseys is to solve this problem.”
