King Charles smiled and praised public members on Friday when he left his home in London, the day after a brief hospitalization for the side effects of his treatment against cancer.
Thursday, the king’s meetings for the day were canceled after “a short period of observation at the hospital,” said Buckingham Palace.
King’s health has been closely monitored since the beginning of last year when he announced that it had been diagnosed with a form of uncluttered cancer.
Charles was seen on Friday when he left Clarence House at the back of a black Audi.
Tourist Julian Mati said he was relieved to see the king appear.
“We were horrified when we heard the news yesterday,” Mati said. “We had come back to the palace today to take photos, but we never imagined that we would see the king. To see him smile and agitate, it is such a relief.”
Charles, 76, moved away from the public’s commitments for about three months, but continued to fulfill state tasks, such as examining the government’s documents and meeting with the Prime Minister.
The diagnosis of Charles cancer has put pressure on the British monarchy, which still evolves after the reign of 70 years of fire the Queen Elizabeth II.
When he succeeded his mother in September 2022, Charles’ task was to demonstrate that the 1,000 -year -old institution remains relevant in a modern country from which citizens come from all over the world. But this task takes a lot of time and energy.
Although the duties of a constitutional monarch are largely ceremonial, the royal whirlwind can be exhausting. In addition to the occasional royal boom, there are meetings with political leaders, dedication ceremonies and events honoring the achievements of British citizens. This increased up to 161 days of royal commitments during the first year of Charles on the throne.
Charles’ disease came while her daughter-in-law, Catherine, Princess of Wales, also received a diagnosis of cancer. Catherine, Prince William’s wife, the throne heir, took more than six months off before returning to public tasks at the end of September.
