Wigan Warriors scored eight tests in a rout of 48-24 from Warrington Wolves in a historic Super League match at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
With more than 50,000 fans who are preparing in the event while the LNR, the Super League and the International Women’s Rugby League united, it was Warrington and Wigan that started the party, but the Warriors had all the pleasure, the tests of Tyler Dupree, Abbas Miski, Bevan French and Harry Smith, and four conversions by Adam Keighran, at halftime.
Wigan resumed in the second half when they had stopped in the first, the silky tests of Jai Field, Jake Wardle, Luke Thompson and Liam Marshall cement their advantage while Keighran’s brightness with the boot continued.
Warrington appreciated a late purple patch and managed to retaliate with Consolation Essays by Arron Lindop, James Harrison and Matt Dufty, as well as a 100 -meter sensational effort from the end of Matty Ashton, but it was too little late for the side of Sam Burgess who left their injuries on the world scene.
Wigan shows a ruthless attack while Warrington leaves Vegas with questions to answer
Wigan and Warrington were in Las Vegas to make the history of the Super League and, in the first quarter, it seemed a close competition with the two parties having a test because Toby King and Marshall refused.
However, from that moment, it was Wigan, and Dupree had an immediate impact of the bench, writing his own script as nephew of the super Bowl winner, Billy Joe Dupree (Dallas Cowboys in 1978) when he opened the scoring in Las Vegas in the 17th minute.
This launched the rise of Wigan which allowed Miski to show an acrobatic competence in the area before Junior Nsemba continued to wreak havoc with his huge races, nourishing the French while Wigan was traveling 18-0 with only 10 minutes remaining from the first 40.
With the support of their noisy fans, Wigan has not finished yet and Smith completed their score in the first half when he finished a silky French pass, Keighran converted again while Warrington had to come together very quickly.
The deadly combination of field and French then appeared in the second half, the first passing in the 45th minute after combining himself with Marshall before the French crossed, nourished his back and sent Wardle in the area.
Some a few minutes later, it was Thompson who pushed back after a brilliant French pass, cementing an advance of 42-0 for the Warriors.
With the game disappeared, Warrington then found their moment while Harrison and Dufty marked quickly, but their joy quickly ended when Marshall finally marked his essay while he ran in the corner in the 77th minute.
The game then ended with a full -length sensational interception of Ashton – Wolves winger even losing his boot in the process – but, despite the dazzling end of Warrington, it was Wigan night on the Big Las Vegas stage.
Peet: I knew we would be on the scene big internship | Burgess: We didn’t want to do difficult things
Warriors Matt Peet Warriors head coach in Sky Sports:
“I think the two teams tried to play open rugby and that the two defenses were tested. It resisted a lot of scrambling and I am really proud of performance.
“This group rises on the great occasion and I was confident all week, we performed.”
Warrington Wolves Sam Burgess head coach in Sky Sports:
“I was disappointed with the result for sure. We missed an opportunity on a big scene in a big moment.
“We didn’t want to do difficult things at the back of the first half and that cost us the game. Forty-eight points are really disappointing.
“This is the first time of my time at the club that we have not been in the game. It is a new one that I will have to understand.”
Sky Sports will once again show each match of the Super League live this season – including two games every round live exclusively, with the four remaining games each week shown on Sky Sports +
