On Thursday, King Charles was hospitalized for “a short period of observation” after having undergone “temporary side effects”, linked to the treatment of the planned cancer, said Buckingham Palace in a statement.
His commitments for Thursday afternoon and Friday were canceled.
“His Majesty has now returned to Clarence House and, as a precaution, acting on medical advice, the program of the newspaper of tomorrow will also be reprogrammed,” said the palace.
“His Majesty would like to apologize to all those who can be embarrassed or disappointed accordingly. ”
Charles, 76, undergoes treatment for a form of cancer not disclosed for more than a year. The king continued to fulfill his state duties, even if he took some time on public tasks.
Her illness came while her daughter-in-law, Catherine, Princess of Wales, also received a cancer diagnosis. She took more than six months off before returning to public tasks at the end of September.
