However, Brauchler said he was determined to fight policies in order to make state residents safer.
“If you are an illegal immigrant and you are here in this jurisdiction, be legal. If you cannot or not be legal, then be on your best behavior,” he said. “Because once you have violated our laws, do not expect me to come to your help and find a way to keep yourself in a place that says you shouldn’t be here to start.”
