Summary
Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation was founded in 1946 and produces, treats and distributes fresh, frozen chicken and value products to retailers, distributors and food companies. It exports chicken products to around 120 countries and operates an integrated commercial model vertically. This means that PPC controls almost all of its commercial operations, from increasing livestock to the distribution of end products. The company is divided into three segments: 1) United States, 2) United Kingdom and Europe and 3) Mexico. The American segment is the most important of net sales.
The company takes care of poultry products in all segments, while it only treats pork products in the United Kingdom, its two largest customers have contributed just over an eighth of total income.
