Female sports were the scourge of my adolescent existence. Few is as humiliating as to fight to get rid of a sweat after training. I twisted, scribbled, almost dislocated a shoulder – and I triggered once what I can only describe as a locked jaw induced by the sports slip. They were too tight, flattened my chest (and my soul) and, by a bad day, gave me a decent dose of body image problems.
Somewhere between my fourth rebirth of Fitness and the awareness that I had not carried an ordinary bra from the pre-countryic, I became converted. After years of testing and errors, I discovered the styles of bra which worked (thank God for the adjustable straps). Now I wear them to work, to train, and sometimes to do nothing at all.
The right sports bra has to be gentle but structured, comfortable but breathable, and – for me – quite move to pass like a high, like the Vuori Allthefeels Bra ($ 58). After testing dozens in recent months – during races, elevators, rides and flows – I found the best sports bras that deserve your attention.
