The Chinese government has said the country’s national airlines to stop accepting Boeing Jets deliveries as a trade war between the two largest economies in the world degenerates, Bloomberg News reports.
China also asks its carriers to stop buying aerial parts and other components of American companies, according to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the situation.
Boeing did not immediately respond to a request for comments. The actions of the aviation giant dropped by $ 4.88, or 3%, to $ 154.40 in pre-commercial exchange.
The order to stop accepting the Boeing Jets comes after China stimulating Its reprisals on American products at 125%. This corresponds to the level of the prices that President Trump has put on Chinese imports, although these taxes can reach 145% for certain products. China’s prices would have more than doubled the price of aircraft and American manufacturing parts, which makes the cost unaffordable, Bloomberg reported.
Boeing is expected to send about 10,737 maximum aircraft to Chinese carriers, including China Southern Airlines, Air China and Xiamen Airlines, reported Bloomberg, citing data from the aviation group Flight Group. During the first quarter, Boeing delivered 130 planes in all, including more than 100,737 jets, the company said April 8.
Bloomberg said that some payment and delivery documents on some of these aircraft ordered by Chinese airlines could have been completed before the trade war was developing earlier this month. In this case, some planes may be able to enter China, reported the information service.
