Chris Eubank Jr thinks that the £ 100,000 brought about him for slapping Conor Benn with an egg were too “steep”.
Eubank and Benn will fight in a completely British confrontation at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26, live Sky Sports box.
During the first press conference to announce the fight, Eubank cracked an egg, held in an open palm, on the side of the head of Benn, which saw the opportunity engulfed by chaotic scenes.
In response to the egg incident, the British Boxing of Control has given EUBANK JR a fine of £ 100,000.
The Eubank team has already pointed out that it intended to appeal this decision.
In an exclusive interview with Sky SportsEUBANK JR said: “We are dealing with the situation. £ 100,000 for launching an egg seems a bit strong.
“Especially by looking at what the others have been condemned to a fine for what seems to be much more serious incidents over the years. I do not think that anyone has a fine of £ 100,000.
“100K for an egg, it’s stiff,” he concluded. “We will deal with the situation.”
The promoter of Eubank Jr, Ben Shalom, said previously Sky Sports He “left with other choice than to appeal”.
Benn broke out with anger after the egg incident and the two camps had to be separated by security.
It was not the first time that the pair clashed. The sons of the great rivals Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr, they were due to the box in 2022. This fight was canceled when the results of Benn’s drug testing tests emerged. Benn’s provisional suspension has now been lifted and is clear to the United Kingdom box.
The enmity between the two fighters became more vicious during this period. Benn had furiously confronted Eubank Jr before and after the latter’s last fight in October.
Thinking about Benn, said Eubank Jr Sky Sports: “He is an aggressive guy. He is an emotional guy. He does not know how to be calm. How to be collected. How to think before he speaks.
“He’s his father’s son. They are hen heads.”
