The quarterfinals of the Europa League finished in a flambé of glory with teams throwing everything at the opportunity to reserve their place in the semi-finals.
Three British clubs – Manchester United, Tottenham and the Rangers all had the chance to do the Final Four, but that was never going to be easy for them.
Athletico Bilbao, with the promise of a final in their original stadium, was in charge and sought to overcome their Scottish opponents, while the Serie in Lazio had a mountain to climb against Bodo / Glimt.
If the European Spurs campaign is over in the hands of Frankfurt, the inevitable dismissal of Angel Postcoglou seems on the horizon.
And for United, they had to win to keep their chances of a place in Europe next season.

Athletic Bilbao has reserved its place in the semi-finals of the Europa League with a 2-0 victory against the Rangers.
The Spanish side dominated from the start and was finally rewarded on half-time when Oihan Sancet coldly converted a penalty after Maroan Sannadi was brought back to the box.
Robby Kelly’s goalkeeper Robby Kelly was sent in the wrong direction while the strike composed of Schet gave Athletic a deserved lead.

Tottenham sealed his place in the semi-finals of the Europa League with a 1-0 victory in Eintracht Frankfurt, winning 2-1 over the total.
In a tense and often frantic competition at the Deutsche Bank Park, the spurs absorbed early pressure and hit the decisive moment just before half-time when James Maddison was removed by goalkeeper Santos.
After a Var check, a penalty was granted and Dominic Solanke converted.
Francfurt responded after the break, creating a series of chances, Rasmus Kristensen and Fares Chaibi testing both Guglielmo Vicario, which produced an exceptional backup to preserve the advance of the Spurs.
The side of Angel Postcoglou moved to late survival mode, causing defensive reinforcements and resists implacable pressure in additional time.
Despite being besieged for a large part of the second half, Tottenham has shown resilience and discipline to be preserved.
Victory takes them to their first semi-final of the Europa League in more than a decade, with the job of a postcoglou angel, for the moment.

Lazio and Bodo / Glimt played an unforgettable quarter-final of the Europa League which ended, ending with a dramatic penalty shootout after a draw for 3-3.
The Lazio, dragging 2-0 of the first leg, rugged at the Stadio Olimpico with goals from Castellanos, Noslin and Dia-whose head of the 99th minute gave them a global 3-2 advance.
But the substitute Andreas Helmersen equalized late in additional time for Glimt, forcing the penalties.
During the shooting, the two parties exchanged blows and failures. Tchaouna and Noslin de la Lazio failed room, while Hauge and Berg de Glimt also wasted the chances.
In the end, Sondre Brunstad Fet, Brede Moe and Patrick Berg converted to Glimt, with the only scorer of Guendouzi Lazio before Castellanos exploded on the bar to confirm the progression of Bodo / Glimt.

Manchester United made one of the most remarkable European feedback in their history, beating Lyon 5-4 in Old Trafford to win 7-6 on the aggregates and reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.
The Red Devils seemed to occur after the first half goals of Manuel Ugarte and Diogo Dalot gave them a 4-2 lead.
But Lyon retaliated, with Tolisso, Tagliafico and Cherki marking in a devastating 15 -minute spell to transform the tie into an additional time.
The penalty of Alexandre Lacazette seemed to seal the fate of United at 6-4 on aggregate.
However, the hosts refused to die. A penalty won by Casemiro and calmly converted by Bruno Fernandes revived Hope, before the finish made up of Kobbie Mainooo, replacing it from Kobbie Mainoo, brought United Level in aggregate to 6-6 with only a few minutes to play.
Then came the moment of magic. At the bottom of the downtime, Casemiro floated in a perfect cross, and Harry Maguire rose the highest to sweep a head in front of Perri, sending Old Trafford in rapture and united in the Final Four.
