An urgent reminder has been issued for a bread brand sold in the United States which could contain “glass fragments”, according to a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) alert.
The department has issued an urgent alert for certain breads that are part of the LP Upper Crout Bakery which had “glass fragments on the bread”.
The rollers were sold in terms of retail in Pennsylvania, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware and Ohio, according to the FDA.

Bread types included in the Reminder includes::
- Hoagie Roll Hoagie Ancient in 4 ounce containers, Recall number: F-0741-2025 in lot # 90
- Rows of multigrain leaven in 18 ounce containers, recall number: F-0742-2025 in lot # 90
- Multigrain rollers with whole grains in 20 ounce containers, recall number: F-0743-2025 in lot # 92
The three products were packed in corrugated paper boxes and are sold frozen.
In total, the FDA said that 818 boxes of upper crust bread bread are suspected of containing glass parts, including 699 Multigen Levain Packages from 18 ounces from the company, most of the recall.

The agency said that 89 boxes of hoagie rollers with old grains of four ounces and 30 cases of multigrain bread with whole grains of 20 ounces were also included in the recall.
The bakery based in Maryland First informed the agency on April 12, the FDA said in its advertisement.
The FDA noted that this incident has been raised to a class II reminder, which means that the product can cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, but it is unlikely that it will cause serious long -term injury.

The agency said that ingestion of glass fragments can cause consumer injury, which may include damage to the teeth, the laceration of the mouth and the throat, or the perforation of the intestine. It also represents a threat of risk of suffocation.

Only a reminder of the class 1 FDA is more urgent, which, according to the agency, “is the most serious type”, as it could cause more serious health problems, including death. However, this type of recall is not linked to packaged bread, according to the FDA.

The FDA said that anyone who had bought the recalled rolls should not eat them and throw them in a secure trash can or return them when they bought for a full refund.
It is not known if injuries have been reported due to glass fragments, but Fox Business contacted the FDA and Upper Crust Bakery LP for more information.
