Barcelona midfielder Gavi struck his criticism before the match against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The 20 -year -old was often stereotypical as a rather than qualified physical player, but the Spaniard finally had his say on his skeptics.
At a pre-match press conference, he said: “Many people think I don’t know how to play football. They have no idea.
The young Blaugrana star missed the first part of the season due to a serious LCA injury suffered at the end of 2023. Since her return in November, Gavi has made 29 appearances and has scored three goals, gradually taking up his way.
Under the manager Hansi Flick, Gavi was deployed in various midfielder roles. Although he admits that he does not yet come back to his best, the midfielder admits that he is grateful for the confidence and advice of the German coach.
“There is a great understanding with Flick,” added Gavi. “He understands that I come back from a long layoff of injuries. It’s not easy after a year, but he has shown a lot of self -confidence. I’m really happy to have it as a coach.

“I have been 100% in good shape since I came back. This is another question that I am more comfortable in certain games than in others. I am calm and satisfied with my performance ”. pic.twitter.com/vo5jpa7qai

“He plays me in many positions and it can improve my game, both at the base and also in attack. I will become more complete as a player, which can only be good.
“Many appearances have come as No. 10, but he knows that I can also play in a double pivot or as No. 6. I improve myself every day and it is even better for me that I can fill these different roles.
“It is true that I do not have a role as important as in the other seasons, but it is normal after my return from a long injury. I am very satisfied with the recovery that I did and if you told me that I would have this season when I returned from injury, I would have taken this.”
Barça faces Dortmund in the first leg of their quarter -final of the Champions League on Wednesday, the Catalans still looking at a triple under the leadership of Flick – they obtained a final of the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid and currently the head of Laliga by four points
But Gavi is trying to take things at a time and refused to get carried away with regard to his seasonal aspiration.
Gavi added: “We have a spectacular season, but we do not feel invincible. You cannot always win in football. We have to be humble in every match, remember where we come from and keep our feet on the ground. There are still a lot of games to play.
