It has already been confirmed that “Predator: Badlands” was to take the franchise in a wild step that we had never seen before by putting the audience on the side of the predator for once. Well, now, after an in-depth inspection of the brand new trailer for Kaiju which has happened online, there is something else that caught our attention, and that could arouse the interest of fans of another emblematic and famous spatial creature with which the predators have struggled in the past.

Between the photos of the young Yautja in the race, we hear a voiceover of the character of her Fanning, alluding to what the predator is confronted, before seeing a brief blow of her tangled in what seems to be a kind of wooden structure. Before disappearing, however, we see his eyes riding the whole way back, becoming entirely white to reveal none other than the company’s logo for Weyland Yutani, the creators of Androids of the “Alien” franchise. It is an interesting detail that we only saw last year, gracked with Android by David Jonsson, Andy of “Alien: Romulus”, when he is reset during the attack by Forehugger. With this subtle wink (or its absence) to this other franchise on the other side of the stars, could we finally be on the path of a revenge match between the foreigner and the predator? Well, given how things took place for the two creatures recently, it would not be so wild with an idea.

This is the perfect time for another Alien vs Predator film
It is easy to assume that after the massive success of “Prey”, the director Dan Trachtenberg received free end so that his next hunting with the new breed dreadlocked from death of death, and this also includes crossing the flight trajectories with the “extraterrestrial” universe. He is not the first to do so, of course. Since the film “Predator 2” of 1990, introduced the xenomorphic skull (to which the trailer has the impression of giving a wink too), the two species have disagreed between them in comics, video games and some of the most critical films of the franchise, which are still among the lowest. However, with the revelation of the character of Fanning being an artificial human from Weyland Yutani, Trachtenberg could in fact rebuild broken bridges and set up a third theatrical round for the two monsters – and he would not be the only director against the idea.

After the massive success of “Alien: Romulus”, director Fede Álvarez revealed that he had an idea for another “Alien vs Predator” with which he would go on board, but only in a single condition. “Maybe this is something that I have to codirigate with my boyfriend Dan,” he said Deadline. “Perhaps we should do like Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez did it with” Dusk Till Dawn “. I will direct half and he will direct another half.” With that and “Alien: Earth” also on the way, which could have been said in the joke could sincerely happen.
We will just have to see how hunting ends when “Predator: Badlands” arrives in theaters on November 7, 2025.
