Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, made a surprise visit to Ukraine Thursday to visit a rehabilitation clinic for injured soldiers.
Harry, who served in the British army for 10 years, visited the superhuman center of the western city of Lviv and met with patients and health professionals.
The clinic treats and helps to rehabilitate the injured military staff in the current war with Russia who has raged in the country since February 2022. The establishment provides prostheses, reconstructive surgery and psychological aid for free.
The Duke of Sussex was joined by the Invictus Games Foundation, The charitable organization he founded in 2014 to help injured veterans through sports competitions.

Rob Owen, CEO of the Invictus Games Foundation, said that Ukraine was an “essential element” of the work of the charity. “This visit reaffirms our dedication to stand up with those who sail on life after the injury,” he said in a press release.
The surprise trip to Ukraine was only announced after leaving the country. During the visit, Harry also met the Minister of Veteran Affairs of Ukraine, Natalia Kalmykova.
Earlier in the week, the Duke of Sussex appeared before the London Royal Court of Justice in the context of a case concerning the changes in his personal security in the United Kingdom after deciding royal functions in 2020.
