A Russian drone strike struck the hours of the Ukraine Sumy region after the first direct talks in three years.
It took three years to obtain officials from Ukraine and Russia in the same room.
But President Vladimir Putin, who proposed Reunion, did not go to Istanbul and the talks ended in less than 90 minutes.
The result: an agreement for an exchange of large-scale prisoners, talks about their meeting of presidents and the two parties pushing their vision of a future ceasefire.
However, diplomacy does not shrink the big gap between Russia and Ukraine.
So, President Putin accepts other talks to avoid more sanctions?
And with Russia which regularly progresses on the battlefield, can President Zelenskyy afford to put pressure for peace without further compromise?
