The limits of The Apple enclosed garden is not as well defined as before; Apple Maps is the last application to be burst. It took a while – the application launched in 2012 – but you can now use Apple Maps on the web. You can load it in a browser on Windows, Mac, iPads and even in the mobile browser of an Android phone.
Currently, the Apple Maps web application has a beta label attached to it, which means that it is a work in progress. Expect more features and better performance over time. (You cannot yet connect with your Apple ID, for example.) You also need a compatible browser, and this means Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Despite its beta status, you can already do a lot with Apple Maps on the web, including the search for places, obtaining directions to specific places and access to guides to popular cities and other destinations.

We do not yet have the possibility of connecting to Apple Maps on the web, so you will start again whenever you open it in your browser, and you will not see links to your past research or your recorded places, for example. Click on the arrow icon (top right) to go to your current location, depending on the location of your browser.
The card icon just above the arrow allows you to choose the view of the card: Standard,, Satelliteor a Hybrid combination of the two. There is also a compass icon just below. Click and slide on the compass to modify the card orientation, or click once to return to the default value (where the North is directly increasing). In the lower right corner, you have zoom commands, and you can also zoom and go out by pinching your touch screen or your trackpad or using the scrolling wheel of your mouse.
There is a navigation pane on the left that you can display and hide using the icon in the upper left corner, and this allows you to access the three key parts of Apple cards on the web: Research,, GuidesAnd Instructions. The search is quite simple: just type what you are looking for. You will also see quick links to find restaurants, bars, service stations and other destinations in the card area you are currently considering.
With some of the larger and more known cities in the world, an information panel appears in more details on the place. This could include benchmarks and historical information from Wikipedia. The main roads and sites that deserve to be seen will be labeled on the map with these glimpse of the city.
