An indigo flight from Delhi to Srinagar was taken in a sudden hail in the air Wednesday evening, causing visible damage to the plane, but causing a quick and controlled response of the crew. The airline confirmed that flight 6th 2142 landed safely in Srinagar after standard operational procedures.
The flight, 6th142, approached Srinagar when he met an intense weather activity. The raws struck the plane down, resulting in that the airline described as “damage linked to bad weather” in the nose of the plane.
In an official press release, Indigo said: “Flight 6th 2142 Delhi in Srinagar met a sudden storm on the way. The flight and cabin crew followed the established protocol and the plane landed safely in Srinagar. ”
The aircraft has suffered damage to its nose section, also known as radome, probably due to the impact of the rawers. Despite the intense time, the crew remained composed and ensured the safety of all passengers on board. A viral video from inside the cabin captured the turbulence, the plane trembling violently while the hail struck its fuselage. Passengers could be seen visibly in distress, although no injury has been reported.
