A pirate has exploited a vulnerability in Telemessage, which provides modified versions of encrypted messaging applications such as Signal, Telegram and Whatsapp, to extract archived messages and other data relating to US government officials and companies that used the tool, 404 media reported.
Telemontage entered the spotlight last week After being reported that the former American national security advisor Mike Waltz used the modified version of signal telemessage. Telemessage based in Israel, belonging to Smarsh, offers its customers a way to archive messages, including vocal notes, from encrypted applications.
The messages from the members of the firm and the waltz were not compromised, said 404 media, but the hacked data contained the content of the messages; contact details of government representatives; Backend connection identification information for telemessage, and more. Customs and protection of American border protection, crypto exchange coin and financial service providers like Scotiak were extracted by the pirate, according to the report.
Piracy has revealed that archived chat newspapers are not encrypted from start to finish between the modified signal version that Telemessage offers and the ultimate location where it stores the messages, reported 404 media.
Smarsh, signal, US Customs and Border Protection, Coinbase and Scotiabank did not immediately return the requests for comments.
