Your guide on what Trump’s second term for Washington, Business and the World means

Donald Trump compared the American strikes on Iran’s nuclear installations to the attacks of the Second World War of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, when he rejected a leak of intelligence which suggested that the impact was limited.

Describing the assault of the weekend as “erased” the sites, the American president said that he had brought the conflict between Iran and Israel to a rapid conclusion and compared the strikes to nuclear bombs dropped on Japan in 1945.

“I don’t want to use an example of Hiroshima, I don’t want to use an example of Nagasaki, but it was essentially the same thing – which ended a war,” Trump told a NATO summit in The Hague on Wednesday.

“It ended [the Israel-Iran] war. If we haven’t taken [out the nuclear facilities]They would fight right now, “he added.

Trump said the information had disclosed on Tuesday, who said that the American strikes had not fallen with Iran’s nuclear program only for a few months, was not conclusive.

He added damage to the Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan sites could not be fully verified until Israel did not provide an assessment.

Trump said that the US Defense Intelligence Agency, who developed the Fordow report, “really didn’t know” the damage, adding: “I think Israel will tell us very soon.”

Taccu-tut spokesperson Effie Defrin said on Wednesday: “I can say here, the assessment is that we seriously damaged the nuclear program and pushed it back for years.”

Trump, the defense secretary, Pete Hegseth and the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, insisted that Fordow was “erased”, the American president said at the Iranian nuclear program at the top of NATO.

But Dan Caine, president of the American joint chiefs, was more measured on Sunday, saying that if the initial assessment suggested that the three sites “have suffered extremely serious damage and destruction”, the final evaluations “would take some time”.

Hegseth said the Pentagon was investigating the report of the report alongside the FBI.

The appearance of Trump at the top of NATO occurs one day after a provisional ceasefire between Iran and Israel settled after 12 days of war.

The president had reprimanded the two parties on Tuesday for alleged violations of the American transition, saying that he was “really unhappy” from Israel in particular.

But in The Hague, he said that he was “so proud” of Israel for having limited his reprisals to an alleged violation of the ceasefire by Tehran, adding: “[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu should be very proud of him. »»

Trump said he thought that Iranian uranium stock enriched 60% of purity would have been struck by American strikes this weekend.

“I think they did not have the chance to get out anything[of the facilities]. . . It is very difficult to withdraw this type of equipment, “he said.

“I think we will end up having a relationship with Iran,” added the American president, saying “the last thing” that Tehran wants is to continue his nuclear enrichment program.

When asked if the United States could strike Iran again if the Islamic Republic has reflected its nuclear infrastructure in the future, Trump said: “Of course.”
