Hansi Flick is categorical that Barcelona’s success this season is the result of hard work rather than luck.
While the Blaugrana is preparing for the confrontation of Copa del Rey on Wednesday against Atletico Madrid, the head coach considers each match as a final until the end of the season.
Barcelona and Atletico played an incredible 4-4 draw during the first stage of their semi-final in February. Now, they meet in Metropolitano to decide who will go to the final on April 26, where they will face Real Madrid or Real Sociedad.
“It’s like a final before the final,” said Barça Flick coach on Tuesday during his pre-match press conference. “They want to reach this final and it’s the same with us.
“My team, players can be proud of what they are doing. We work hard and what we do is not lucky, they won it. This is the positive thing. They can be very proud.
“We know that so far we have not reached [anything] – ok, we won the [Spanish] Supercopa, but it’s in the past – and now we want to go to the final, but it’s not easy.

“Atletico has an excellent coach with [Diego] Simeone, an experienced team, they know how they want to play. You can see in the matches before the last second they are there. It will be a difficult match.
Atletico Madrid overcome the Laliga for the last time in December after defeating Barça and was still in competition in the Champions League at that time.
However, their season quickly collapsed, and they now follow Barcelona nine points in the League classification, while also being eliminated from the Champions League in the hands of Real Madrid.
With the Copa Del Rey now the best opportunity for Atletico silverware, Flick does not think that it will make them more dangerous than before.
“Maybe it’s the closest title they can win, but it’s the same for us,” he said. “A victory, then in a final. While in Aliga, there are a lot of games to play.
“Atletico will play as if they were normally playing, nothing different. They have their style. The intensity is always high, aggressive. It’s normal. I love the way they play football, also with a lot of speed in their game. I love their style, how they play. ”
