The former commentator on strike and television in Australia, Michael Slater, was sentenced after pleading guilty to charges of domestic violence.
The 55 -year -old man had four years in prison, but will walk freely after serving more than 12 months in detention with his partly suspended mandate.
Slater, who was refused the surety by the court just over a year ago, was accused of multiple offenses of domestic violence on the Sunshine Coast du Queensland, between December 2023 and April 2024.
The accusations included allegations of aggression, strangulation, burglary and harassment compared to several incidents against a woman.
During the conviction on Tuesday, judge Glen Cash said to Slater: “It is obvious that you are an alcoholic. Your rehabilitation will not be easy, alcoholism is part of your makeup.”
Slater was sentenced to a two -year community correctional order – a non -guardian sentence in Australia – by a Sydney court at the end of 2022 after pleading guilty to accusations including common assault and a hunting attempt.
The right-hander played 74 test games for Australia between 1993 and 2001, raising more than 5,000 points and scoring 14 cents and 21 half-century, while he was doing nine fifty in 42 day.
He also played in English County cricket with Derbyshire.
Slater became a prosperous cricket commentator, originally on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom and then in Australia, before being abandoned by the Seven Network in 2021.
