After having experienced a significant layoff, Edwin de Los Santos is expected to return to the Carré circle when he should challenge the light world champion WBO Keyshawn “The Business Homme” Davis (13-0, 9 KB) on Saturday, June 7.

For champion Keyshawn Davis, it will be the second time that he will have the controller in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. The challenger, Edwin de Los Santos, will make his second attempt to win a world title as he plans to invade the return of the reigning champion and play the role of the spoiler.
The Dominican boxer Edwin of Los Santos paid public attention in September 2022 when he accepted a last minute fight against the slight undefeated competitor then increasing Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela. In the first round of the competition, from Los Santos decided to skip the sensation process.
De Los Santos immediately advanced and won a number of hard punches. He continued the attack in the second round, but he was overthrown when Valenzuela caught him with a left counter.
From Los Santos got up and a few seconds later, he marked his own knockdown when he won a burst of hard fire. De Los Santos equalized the score with regard to eliminations, but he lost one point because of the fact that he hit Valenzuela when he was down.
At the start of the third round, Los Santos struck Valenzuela for the second time when he landed a big left hook. Valenzuela was able to get up, but later in the third, from Los Santos forced the referee to stop the competition when he won a series of punishing games.
After participating in a fascinating fire fight in 2022, Los Santos participated in the most manifest fight of 2023 when he faced Shakur Stevenson. In a match for the light weight of the vacant WBC, Stevenson took little risk because he was reluctant to get involved and managed to dance his way to victory.
From now on, the SouthPaw Edwin of Los Santos, 25 years old (16-2, 14 KB), is about to obtain a second world stars. By going to his fight against the WBO champion, Keyshawn Davis, the Challenger Edwin of Los Santos feels confident and motivated.
From a historical point of view, in June 1968, Carlos Cruz defeated Carlos Ortiz via the sharing decision and became the first Dominican light world champion. If Edwin de Los Santos can defeat Davis on June 7, he will become the second Dominican boxer to win a world title in Lightweight.
During his appearance on the Podcast by Broadway Joel, Los Santos recognized the fact that he feels very confident and the assurance stems from his observation of his opponent.
“Listen, I saw a few videos, and they touched it, little punches, and he doesn’t like it. I mean that the reaction I saw is as weird, as sweet,” said Los Santos.
Edwin de Los Santos, is a qualified boxer-puncher who has power in both hands. He thinks that if he is able to get his gunshots, power will overwhelm Davis.
The Los Santos challenger thinks that the only way to the victory of Keyshawn Davis is to run like Shakur did. During his interview, Los Santos gave a severe warning to if Davis runs and decides to stop when he said: “If he stops, he dies.”
