AC Milan director Geoffrey Moncada confirmed that the club was ready to sell the back left Theo Hernandez this summer if he does not extend his contract.
Theo is in the last 18 months of his current contract and discussions on an extension have stalled, the reports claiming that the two parties are distant with regard to the finances proposed.
Serie a Newcomers Como offered around 40 million euros to sign Theo in January and Milan was ready to accept the offer, but the 27 -year -old rejected the move and rather chose to see the season with the Rossoneri.
However, if he does not sign before the summer, Theo will be made available again for the transfer.
“The important thing is to control the players, we cannot lose a player on an expiring contract,” said Moncada Dazn. “Never.
“This also applies to Theo and [Mike] Maignan. “”
Theo was praised as one of the best rear in the world just a few years ago and its potential availability aroused the interest of several sides of the elite. Manchester City is known admirers and Real Madrid was to join the race for the signing of Theo after missing an agreement for the best target Alphonso Davies in Bayern Munich.
The French international spent two years in Madrid’s books between 2017 and 2019 after a move of 23 million pounds Sterling of Atletico Madrid, but it was used in a reserve role during his first season and sold in Milan following a loan with Real Sociedad.
