The president also said that it was open to the possibility of authorizing certain Palestinian refugees in the United States, but that these requests would be processed on a case-by-case basis.
Trump said last week at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he wanted the United States to take control of Gaza after the Palestinians are reinstalled in other countries.
“The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip, and we will also do a job with him,” said Trump at the time. “We have it and will be responsible for the dismantling of all dangerous and unexplored bombs and other weapons on the site.”
“The site level and get rid of destroyed buildings, level it, create an economic development which will provide an unlimited number of jobs and housing for the inhabitants of the region,” he added. “Do a real job. Do something different. I can’t go back. If you go back, it will end in the same way as for 100 years.”

Several countries have criticized Trump’s comments on the stripping of Gaza, which was bombed by Israeli forces in the conflict launched by the attack on October 7, 2023 of Hamas against the Jewish State.
Trump too said January 25 That he wanted Jordan, Egypt and other Arab nations to accept more Palestinian refugees from Gaza, potentially keeping enough people to “clean” the region.
“You are probably talking about a million and a half people, and we clean it up and say:” You know, it’s over “,” he said at the time.
The Palestinians feared during the War of Israel-Hamas in Gaza, which is now under a cease-fire, which they would suffer from another “Nakba”, which means a catastrophe in Arabic, which refers to displacement and to the dispossession of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians during the 1948 war at the birth of the State of Israel.
Earlier Sunday, Israeli president Isaac Herzog told Maria Bartiromo de Fox News when he questioned Trump’s plan to take control of Gaza that the American president had to meet King Jordan Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Elsi And perhaps the crown prince of Saudi Arabia and perhaps the Arab Sadi. “President Trump must meet the main major Arab leaders, first and foremost the king of Jordan and the president of Egypt and I also think of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia,” said Herzog.
“These are partners who must be listened to, they must be discussed with. We must also honor their feelings and see how we build a lasting plan for the future,” he added.
Saudi Arabia is one of the many countries that have rejected Trump’s plan to resume Gaza. Jordan King Abdullah II plans to tell Trump on Tuesday at their planned meeting that the proposal is a recipe for radicalism that will spread chaos through the Middle East and will endanger the peace of the kingdom with Israel.
