Preview of the match for Bayern Munich against Bayer Leverkusen
Two German football giants meet in the Champions League this week when Bayern Munich welcomes Bayer Leverkusen.
Vincent Kompany hopes to increase his reputation as a head coach by beating his highly evaluated Rival Xabi Alonso for the first time this season.
And expectations for Bayern are high this term having finally returned to their best form.
They pave the way in the Bundesliga ranking, eight points ahead of last season’s winners.
But Leverkusen remains a very dangerous team under their Spanish head coach.
Midfielder Florian Wirtz is stealing, scoring six goals and entering an assist so far, rightly so, twice as the Michael Ballack club record of nine involvement objectives in Europe.
On the other side, Harry Kane remains more determined than ever to end his long drought trophy.
And with the more likely Bundesliga crown, it can focus more on Europe, having become so close to Tottenham in 2019.
Bayern is sitting on the nicer side of the draw, and if they overcome their rivals will face Inter Milan or Feyenoord in the quarterfinals.
Real Madrid and Liverpool are both on the opposite side, which means that they cannot face them before the final.

For Leverkusen, Piero Hincie will be available after serving his suspension in the Bundesliga this weekend, but Jeanuel Belocien will be missing in defense.
