The British and Irish team of lions and captain for the Australia tour will be appointed live in front of more than 2,000 fans in the emblematic O2 of London on Thursday, May 8.
The president of the Lions, Ieuan Evans, will reveal the tourists of the head coach Andy Farrell and the captain of the series in Australia.
Sky Sports will exclusively show the 2025 Lions tour, with the three tests and six warm -up games to show live, starting against the Western force in Perth on June 28.
More than 2,000 Lions supporters will be present for the historic occasion on the site.
The president of the Lions Evans said: “There is no greater honor than being selected for the British and Irish lions and as a player, you have trouble sleeping the night previous as anticipation is built.
“The hours feel like days while waiting to hear if you are lucky enough to get this dream call for the ultimate experience on and off the field.
“I had the chance to do three lions tours and I discovered a letter, a telegram and Ceefax – which was our version of the red button for young supporters. And this team announcement, in front of our faithful fans, will be so memorable in its own way.
“There is a lot of rugby to play between now and May and Andy and his team of coaches will have extremely difficult decisions to make before the tour in Australia.
“Players will do everything they can to reserve their place and we wish them all the best in the coming weeks.”
What are the moons?
After their confrontation in Perth, the Lions will face the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on July 2, the Waratahs in Sydney on July 5, the Brumbies of Canberra on July 9, an invitation team from Australia and New Zealand in Adélaïde on July 12 and the rebels in Melbourne on July 22.
This match will take place after the opening test in Brisbane on July 19, with the second test at MCG in Melbourne on July 26 and the final test of the Accor stadium in Sydney on August 2.
Who is the Lions head coach?
Andy Farrell will direct the Lions as a chief coach while he will succeed Warren Gatland in the role of having worked as a defense coach during the 2013 and 2017 winning tours in Australia and New Zealand.
