Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky said his explosive oval office meeting with Donald Trump on Friday was “unfortunate”, during his first public remarks since the United States announced a military aid break in kyiv.
“Our meeting in Washington, in the White House on Friday, did not do the way it was supposed to be,” he wrote in an article on X.
Zelensky said that “nobody wants the Ukrainians” after Trump accused him of not being ready to come to the negotiating table.
Ukraine woke up on Tuesday that the United States “stopped and revised” his military aid in the country after a break in diplomacy last week.
In the long social media postZelensky said he and his team “were ready to work under the solid direction of President Trump to get a lasting peace.”
“We really appreciate how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence,” he wrote.
“And we remember the moment when things have changed when President Trump provided Ukraine javelins. We are grateful,” he added, referring to the American anti-tank missile system sold to Ukraine during Trump’s first administration.
During Friday meeting at the Oval Office, Vice-president JD Vance accused Zelensky of being ungrateful For military support, the United States had provided.
“It’s time to do things correctly. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive,” wrote Zelensky.
The meeting of the oval office between Zelensky and US officials last week had to conclude with the two parties that report an agreement that Granting access to the United States to rare earth minerals in Ukraine.

In his last statement, Zelensky seemed to refer to a French idea on a Truce of a month between Russia and Ukraine.
He wrote: “We are ready to work quickly to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky – the ban on missiles, long -distance drones, energy bombs and other civil infrastructure – and the truce in the sea immediately, if Russia does the same.”
