The Rangers make the difficult trip to Fenerbahce of Jose Mourinho Thursday for the first stage of their match of the last 16 games of the Europa League.
Having dismissed Philippe Clement and installed the legend of the Barry Ferguson club as acting director last month, the Rangers continue their short-circuit of confidence and in disappointing form. The 47-year-old man was triumphant in his first match at the helm, but home defeat 2-1 against Motherwell on weekends will have supporters fearing the worst before the trip to Turkey.
The result left the 16 points of the Gers behind Bitter Rivals Celtic in the first Scottish, but they were much more assured in the Europa League this quarter. Four victories and two draws helped them finish eighth in the league phase and avoid the dam round.
Fenerbahce had the opposite problem this season, impressive in the Super Lig but wading in Europe. They made the playoffs with the skin of their teeth after finishing 24th, before conquering Anderlecht through two legs. Mourinho, who admitted that he would be open to the management of Celtic or Rangers in the future, would like to continue his excellent European organization record Thursday.
Here is 90 minutes Guide to a giant battle.

The Rangers have a solid European record in previous seasons – even by making the final of this competition in 2021/22 – but they will be outsider heading for Fenerbahce. They are in an incredibly uneven form and boast of a team lower than their Turkish hosts.
There are many familiar faces within the Fenerbahce team, with Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic and Milan Skriniar in their “Expendable” range. They should have enough in the tank to win a dominant advance before Ibrox’s return match, taking full advantage of the failed Gers.
