Billed like the “The most portable pizza oven in the world”, the Gozney bearing strip is a robust and robust gas beauty on an adventure. It is the smallest in the extremely impressive Gozney range, and the second more affordable behind the original ROCCBOX. He joined a constantly evolving selection of home pizza ovens that have transformed our ability to cook an appropriate pizza – we are talking about everything, of Napolitan, of Chicago, New York and Sicilian style – of the comfort of the backyard.
With the tread, Gozney wants us to take our calzone on the tour on tour. Measuring 16.5 “x 19.1” x 12.6 “, it is undeniably compact for a featured pizza oven, and the two large handles facilitate (and cleaner) to move than most. The design only of gas can reach 932 degrees Fahrenheit (500 degrees Celsius) and has a space for a 12 inch pie.
Can it compete with the best available pizza ovens, and at 29.7 pounds, is it really portable enough to take with you? I spent a few weeks at a time loading carbohydrates and trunk to find out.
Portable? Really?
For all the magnificent marketing images of the tread in the desert, on the mountains and in distant places, it should be noted that my examination unit arrived on a full -size wooden palette. Admittedly, Gozney provided me with all the extra imaginable, but it was always a quantity of equipment revealing for something not only portable, but the “most portable pizza oven in the world”.

29.7 pounds is almost the same weight as a typical three -year SUV tire or a three -year -old child. Although he is not reprimanded, nobody wants to spend everything so long to wear something so clumsy.
The pizza oven is an impressive and ideal unit if you are a tailgate whose idea of the desert is the parking lot, but once you take into account the gas cartridge (they recommend a 5-11 kilograms tank), the pizza pizza stand and all the other attracts necessary to make pizza away from their home, real logistics of the whole world.
Looking at the competition, the Ooni Koda 12 (8/10, Wired recommends) is a little lighter than the bearing strip at 20.4 pounds, but also larger, at 24.4 x 15.5 x 11.7 inches. This light weight is a consideration when you realize that the Adrienne revision publisher has therefore attached pizza ovens as large as the Ooni Karu 16 (9/10, Wired recommended) to paddle boards to take them to the lakes in the middle.
Ooni transport covers are Also much cheaper that the Bag de Venture from Tread ($ 99) And the ovens are delivered with legs, so you don’t need to take a stand. However, if you head anywhere with unequal soil, Gozney’s stand is much more versatile (more about it later).
