Paulie Malignaggi was not surprised to see Gervonta Davis having problems against Lamont Roach last Saturday evening in their worldwide title fight in Brooklyn, New York.
“Cherry Pick” went wrong
The competition was tried as a majority draw of 12 rounds, but the fans saw it as a loss for tank. Malignaggi considers the fight as a choice of cherry that went wrong for tank. Although the light division is responsible for talent, Davis chose Roach in the Super Featherweight division, believing that it would be an easy brand.
He agrees with the fans that the call blown by the referee on the Knockdown prevented Roach from winning the fight. Malignaggi underlines that Davis (30-0-1, 28 ko) is 30 years old and has not fought any of the best fighters in the weight category of 135 lb. He earned money all these years on PPV, fighter of battable fighters.
