Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo faces a new Democrat Challenger in his attempt to replace Eric Adams as mayor of New York, according to information.
The president of the New York Municipal Council, Adrienne Adams, 64, will officially launch her campaign with a rally during the weekend, compared to Fox 5 nyc.
With the Democrat primary only four months old, Adams should immediately ask access to the ballot.
In a declaration to the media, Adams said that New Yorkers could not afford to live in the city, that the town hall was “in chaos” and alleged that President Donald Trump “corrupted the independence of our city”.

“It’s time to get up. I never plan to run for the mayor, but I don’t give up in New York,” Adams said in the press release, shared with Politico.

Elected for the first time at the municipal council in 2017, Adams became the first speaker of the Black Council five years later.

Adams is the last high -level figure to throw his hat in the ring, challenging the first runner, the former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, to replace the mayor of Eric Adams.
Cuomo resigned in 2021 after a report published by the State Prosecutor General concluded that he had sexually harassed nearly a dozen women.

Cuomo apologized for having “offended” women with remarks which, according to him, were to be collegial, and admitted that he had sometimes been “too familiar” with people, but he denied having touched anyone inappropriately and declared that the investigation into his conduct had been imperfect and politically motivated.

The race comes after the mayor Eric Adams was charged in September for federal corruption charges. He is now dealing with a storm of criticism after the leaders of the newly settled justice from Trump asked a court to abolish the case, so that Adams could help the repression of federal government immigration.
