On Wednesday, UNIS workers welcomed President Donald Trump’s new prices on automotive imports on Wednesday, calling him “victory for car workers”.
In a statement, the UAW, one of the largest unions in the United States, said that Trump’s plan to impose 25% on all imported cars was a continuation of the president’s “rebirth Made in America and marked the start of the North American free trade agreement, or Alena.
“We applaud the Trump administration for intensifying the end of the free trade disaster which devastated the communities of the working class for decades. The end of the race down the automotive industry begins with the repair of our broken commercial offers, and the Trump administration has marked history with today’s actions,” said UAW president Shawn Fain.

To put an end to the “breed down”, said Fain, must include “the guarantee of union rights for car workers everywhere with a solid National Council for Labor Relations, a decent retirement with protected social security services, health care for all workers, in particular through Medicare and Medicaid, and dignity over and out of work”.

Fain said that Trump prices are “a major step in the right direction for car workers and blue-collar communities across the country, and it is now on car manufacturers, from the three talls to Volkswagen and beyond, to bring good union jobs to the United States”

In his oval office remarks, Trump said the prices “will lead to the construction of many plants, in this case, the automotive factories, and that you will see figures that you have not seen both in terms of employment.
