“The view” co-animator Whoopi Goldberg signed the dream of technological journalist Kara Swisher to buy the Washington Post by Jeff Bezos or the idea that it can even be “the time of a new newspaper”.
Swisher said last year that she worked to assemble a group of investors to buy the position, although the founder billionaire Amazon gave no indication that he was ready to sell the Washington document, DC.
The post has undergone an exodus of high -level journalists and editors in recent months and has annoyed certain staff readers and members of the year that he announced last year that he would not approve of a candidate during the 2024 presidential election. Bezos, who took the credit of Nixing a planned approval of the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, further annoyed staff members with recent changes to the Journal page.
In the middle of the drama in progress inside the post, Swisher reiterated his desire to buy the newspaper during the episode of “The View” on Thursday, saying that she knew many billionaires who would help.

“Money is not the problem. The problem is that Jeff Bezos does not want to sell it because he now considers it as a tool,” Swisher said during the Gabfest during the day.
“Musk A X, and he has that. Now, what’s going on, however, is that all the very good people leave. Ruth Marcus has just left, a formidable columnist, the head of Pr has just left, the communications chief, yesterday, and they simply lose subscriptions and all this is due to Jeff’s affairs,” said Swisher.
“He likes to blame journalists. They don’t like to change, and I would have agreed 10 years ago, but journalists understand that they have to change,” Swisher continued before Goldberg intervened.
“So maybe,” said Goldberg while Swisher asked if she wanted to be involved.
“I do it,” said Goldberg. “Maybe the idea is … crowdfunding, because I think many people would like to be part of a newspaper that had something to say.”
Goldberg said that she had watched crowdfunding to do “incredible things” and that it could help repair the post.
“Or maybe it’s time for a new newspaper,” said Goldberg.

The message did not respond immediately when asked for comments from Fox News Digital.
The “public relations chief” to whom Swisher referred was probably the CCO Kathy Baird, who would have announced His resignation this week. The position did not confirm its release.
Bezos announced in February that the opinion section would focus on “support and defense of two pillars: personal freedoms and free markets”.
Earlier this week, the longtime columnist from Post, Ruth Marcus, detailed her release from the newspaper in an article for the New Yorker, calling the publisher of the newspaper for having killed his critical column of Bezos.
“I stayed until I could no longer – until the owner of the newspaper, Jeff Bezos, has published an edict that the posts of post’s opinion would now focus on the twin pillars of personal liberties and free markets ” and, even more disturbing, than points of view opposing these pillars will be left to be published by others ”. From the post, Will Lewis, killed a column that I deposited last week expressing my disagreement with this new direction. Marcus wrote.
