Aston Villa defeated Newcastle United 4-1 at home in the Premier League yesterday, and the BBC expert Pat Nevin questioned Jelinton’s performance in the match.
The Brazilian is a key player for Newcastle, and he contributed to both ends of the field throughout the season. However, he looked quite poor against Aston Villa, and he clearly avoided embarking on the plated during the match.

“Jelinton has much less impact in the game, it’s very visible”, ” Nevin said on the BBC.
“He is on a yellow card, so he is afraid to make another challenge. There was a few moments where he normally stuck a tackle, but he almost jumped because he does not want another yellow.”
Jelinton will try to bounce back

The Brazilian will be fully aware of his disappointing performance, and it will be interesting to see if he can rebound strongly in the next match. He regularly impressed this season.
Newcastle has had an impressive season so far, and they have managed to win the English League Cup. They will be desperate to guarantee qualification in the Champions League this season.
They are currently third in the league painting, despite the defeat against Aston Villa. However, they cannot afford to slide at this stage of the season. Manchester City and Chelsea breathe the neck, and Newcastle must try to win its remaining matches if they want to participate in the Champions League next season.
