Anthropic launched major improvements to its Claude AI Assistant today, introducing an autonomous research capacity and Google Workspace Integration that transforms AI into what the company calls a “real virtual collaborator” for business users. The expansion directly defies Openai and Microsoft on the increasingly competitive market for AI productivity tools.
The new Research The capacity allows Claude to independently carry out several research which rely on each other while determining what to investigate. Simultaneously, the Google Workspace Integration connects Claude to emails, calendars and user documents, eliminating the need for manual downloads.
“ Minutes not hours ”: how Claude’s search speed aims to win occupied executives
Anthropic positions Claude Research The functionality as radically faster as competing solutions, promising complete answers in a few minutes rather than “up to 30 minutes” which they say that rivals need.
“At Anthropic, we focus on laser on business workers and use cases, and our research tool reflects this,” an anthropogenic spokesperson for Venturebeat told. “Research is a tool to help business workers get well -documented answers to requests in less than a minute. Other solutions on the market take up to 30 minutes to generate answers – this is not what your executive or average financial services employees need. ”
This speed -oriented approach represents a calculated bet according to which business users prioritize rapid responses for time sensitive decisions compared to more exhaustive but slower research capacities.
Business quality security promises to protect business data while Claude operates
For technical decision -makers who envisage AI tools, data security remains essential. Anthropic emphasizes its safety approach, in particular for the functionality of the Google Drive catalog which uses increased generation techniques (RAG) recovery.
“Confidentiality is fundamental to our approach. We do not form our models on default user data,” said the anthropogenic spokesperson. “We have implemented strict access and access control mechanisms. The connections of each user or organization to external services are correctly authenticated and authorized only for this specific user or organization. ”
The company restricts its Google Drive catalog figure Corporate plan Customers, who include “improved security infrastructure, dedicated support and advanced administrative controls designed for organizations with strict data protection requirements”.

Fighting Ai Hallucinations: How Claude uses quotes to establish confidence
Anthropic addresses one of the most persistent challenges of AI – the tendency to generate information with plausible but incorrect sounding – by an explicit source quote.
“Anthropic is devoted to the construction of the most reliable business AI tools. When searching for research – whether on the web or in internal documents – Claude quotes its sources so that users can easily reference the information, “said the spokesperson.
This verification mechanism deals with the growing demand for responsible AI companies, in particular in corporate critical applications where accuracy determines success.
Real king: the first users report the hours recorded on several departments
Although always in the early beta version, Anthropic reports promising results of internal tests, employees “saved hours each week that they generally spent making the sea of documents and emails”.
The company has highlighted several implementations, including communication teams compiling launch information and briefings, engineers preparing for customer meetings by seeking industry news and examining existing documents and analyzing the growth of the sector without manual work.
“New employees jump for classic” new rental questions “and ask Claude to summarize the moments of the coming company, the OKR and to share relevant style guides,” noted the spokesperson, suggesting potential applications beyond daily productivity.
The AI Assistant Wars warms up: how Claude compares himself to Chatgpt, Copilot and Gemini
Anthropic updates arrive in the middle of fierce competition. OPENAI Chatgpt offer web navigationMicrosoft’s co -pilot fits with Office 365and google Gemini Connect with Workspace Applications.
Anthropic differentiates Claude through a combination of speed, business concentration and what it describes as a more autonomous approach to research and information recovery.
The search function is available in early beta for Max,, TeamAnd Business Plans in the United States, Japan and Brazil. Web research has extended to Brazil and Japan after its American launch in March. THE Google Workspace Integration is available in beta to all paid users, although administrators must activate IT on the scale of the company before individual use.
Assistants to employees: the new era of knowledge work on AI
As the AI systems evolve simple requests for requests to proactive research partners, they reshape the way the work of knowledge occurs. Claude’s new capacities represent more than additions of progressive characteristics – they indicate a fundamental change in the relationship between professionals and their digital tools.
For companies that sail on digital transformation, the question is not whether AI will transform knowledge work, but at what speed.
The vision of anthropic of AI that can seek independently, reason by problems and connect directly with work systems suggests a future where the most precious human skills may not be the collection of information, but rather ask the right questions.
In the high challenges race to make AI really useful for daily work, the latest claude upgrades reveal that the finish line is not only a smarter AI – it is AI that works like humans already.
